Job Title: ACCA Qualified Accountant – Operational Manager

We are seeking a highly motivated, ACCA-qualified accountant to join our dynamic team as an Operational Manager. This is an exciting opportunity to take on a key leadership role, overseeing the operational side of our accounting practice and supporting our continued growth.

Role Overview:

As an Operational Manager, you will play a crucial role in driving the operational efficiency of the finance function and ensuring smooth day-to-day operations within the accounting team. You will work closely with senior leadership and other departments to streamline processes, manage resources, and oversee financial reporting activities.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Operational Oversight: Manage the day-to-day operations of the accounting function, ensuring processes run smoothly and efficiently.
2. Financial Reporting: Oversee the preparation and delivery of accurate and timely financial reports, including management accounts, statutory accounts, and other financial statements.
3. Team Management: Supervise and mentor a team of accountants, providing guidance, support, and training to enhance performance and development.
4. Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvement and implement best practices to enhance operational efficiency and productivity.
5. Budgeting & Forecasting: Assist in budgeting and forecasting processes, providing valuable insights and recommendations to senior management.
6. Compliance & Risk Management: Ensure compliance with financial regulations and internal policies. Identify and mitigate financial risks.
7. Client Liaison: Work directly with clients on operational matters, providing high-quality service and support.
8. Internal Reporting & Strategy: Work closely with senior management to provide operational reports and insights that inform strategic decision-making.

Qualifications & Skills:

• ACCA Qualified (or equivalent professional accounting qualification.
• Proven experience as an accountant with a strong understanding of financial operations, ideally within a managerial or supervisory role.
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a team effectively.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with clients, staff, and senior management.
• Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
• Knowledge of accounting software and ERP systems (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, etc).
• A deep understanding of UK accounting standards, tax regulations, and compliance requirements.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
